We often get approached by men from different parts of the UK asking to promote men’s groups and men’s work. At some point we’d love to create a page dedicated to all men’s groups and events in the UK – so if you run these events or know about them – please let us know.
In the meantime here are some updates from two men who attended the First National Conference for Men and Boys in November 2011 and have asked us to share their work with our readers – they are Nick Clements and Kenny D’Cruz.
Kenny runs and open men’s group in London which you read about at www.mensgroups.co.uk as well as a mixed group (see www.mixedgroups.co.uk)
In addition to these two open groups Kenny runs Men’s Closed Groups and Men’s Action Groups for men who have taken part in his Open Groups.
Nick runs talks and workshops on ‘The New Ages of Men’ which cover subjects like he creation of a new way of being for men, away from the ‘macho’ without losing spirit; how to use rites of passage, particularly with teenagers and developing positive relationships between men and women:
20th February: Isbourne Centre, Cheltenham
24th March: Norfolk Men’s Group
31st March: Clophill centre, Bedford
16th April: Bath Positive Living Group
His other pet subject is ‘The Call for Elders’ where he asks who are the modern day equivalent of elders? How do we step up to such a role, and how can we make it relevant to society today? Dates below:
20th March: Lymington Positive Living Group
19th September: Glastonbury Positive Living Group
You can get more info on Nick’s events on 08714 986672
