The Men’s Network has appointed its first female chair at its annual AGM in Brighton & Hove.
Vicci Heaysman, a mother of one from Eastbourne, was the unanimous choice of the Network’s membership.
Vicci has served on The Men’s Network committee since 2010 and works for Mankind UK the charity for men who have been raped and sexually abused.
Existing committee members Kuen-Wah Cheung, Sean Walser and David Helps were re-elected and will be joined by a new committee member, Daniel Peters.
Barry Winchester left the committee prior to the election and remains a member of The Network.
Founders Glen Poole and Ben Dew stepped down from the committee to focus on the day to day running of The Men’s Network.
The retiring chair Glen Poole said:
“My year as Chair of The Men’s Network has been one of the best experiences of my life. I am delighted to be handing over the chair of The Men’s Network to a woman who is committed to making a huge contribution to men and boys in our city and around the world. I look forward to working with Vicci and the new committee as we continue to develop and grow The Men’s Network in the coming year.”
