Male domestic violence victims on rise

There’s been a dramatic increase in the number of men who’re claiming to be victims of domestic abuse according to a report on male victims of domestic violence on Channel Five.

Far from the problem being restricted to just women, last year calls to a dedicated men’s helpline went up by more than a third says the report.

And charities say there isn’t enough specialist support for those who need it.

Click here to see the report on male victims of domestic violence and read some of the comments from viewers such as this one:

“It’s time that the police and social workers believed men when they claim to be victims of female violence. Realistic retraining of the police and social service personnel is now essential”.
