It also means that the Men and Boys in our city have a major role to play in creating A World That Works For Everyone – Including Men And Boys. If the work we do in Brighton & Hove has a positive impact on Men and Boys around the world in the next 3 years then we Brighton & Hove will deserve to be recognised as the world’s best city for Men and Boys.
The key objectives of our international work in the next three years are:
Year One (2011-2012): To develop our international presence through our role as the UK’s representative on the International Men’s Day Co-ordination Committee and to launch a brother charity based in Brighton & Hove focussed on men and boys internationally. To use the International Men’s Day theme for 2011 – ‘Giving Every Boy The Best Possible Start In Life’ – to advance our work in Brighton & Hove
Year Two (2012-2013): Work with our International Men’s Day partners to develop joint working around its 2012 theme (to be announced) and explore the possibility of a single symbol event (eg 24 hour concert).
Year Three (2013-14): Help create the biggest ever campaign or event for Men and Boys linked to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and host a Global Conference For Men And Boys in Brighton & Hove.
Developing the international status of Brighton & Hove as the World’s Best City For Men And Boys will enable us to attract the very best knowledge, experience and ideas for Creating A City That Works For Everyone – Including Men And Boys – to Brighton & Hove and help us deliver our ambitious strategy.
