The Men’s Network

The Men’s Network is a charitable organisation that was founded in March 2010 with the express intention of developing a citywide strategy for men and boys.

We are both a community of identity, in that our volunteers are predominantly male – and a community of interest, in that we unite a broad range of partners who share our interest in improving the way our city works for Brighton & Hove.

This strategy focuses on how we intend to develop both of these communities over the next three years (2011-2014) in service of our city.

The vision of The Men’s Network is to create a world where everyone can fulfill their greatest potential – a vision that is aligned with the Strategic Partnership’s vision of a city where opportunities are provided for all our residents to improve their lives.

Our mission is to help men and boys to fulfill their greatest potential in a way that supports the city’s commitment to provide opportunities for all residents to improve their lives and helps us create A City The Works For Everyone – Including Men and Boys.

Our guiding values are as follows:

We are proudly pro-male and proudly pro-female

  • We believe in the potential of every human being
  • We believe in working with people to find solutions
  • We believe it is always our responsibility to try and find an answer
  • We see things differently
  • We are bold, audacious and take innovative action
  • We believe in the potential greatness of all human beings:

We believe all men are great because we believe all humans are great. When we give all men the opportunity to realise their greatness we will give all humans the opportunity to realise their greatness. We believe that this is possible because we believe that every woman and every man is great.
