Our Strategic Framework

Our Citywide Strategy For Men And Boys is not a formally adopted strategy and so does not sit within an official framework of overview and scrutiny.

It is however has been designed in service of the city to will the Brighton & Hove Strategic Partnership to focus on the specific needs of men and boys in a way that makes it easier for the city to deliver on the objectives of The Sustainable Communities Strategy.

If we are too succeed in creating a City That Works For Everyone – Including Men and Boys  – then we will need to engage the broadest possible range of partners and to this end we are happy in principle to involve any individual or group who is committed to taking action that will help us to deliver on the shared objectives outlined in this strategy.

With this in mind, we have designed the strategy to evolve in a dynamic and fluid way that can adapt to changing circumstances over its 3 year life lifespan.

As a starting point we propose to operate within the following strategic framework:

INTERNAL STRATEGIC DIRECTOR Oversees ongoing development and delivery of the strategy and leads on culture change
NETWORK CO-ORDINATOR Co-ordinates the development of a dynamic network of groups and communities across the city and beyond
SERVICES DIRECTOR Connects and develops services for men and boys in the city
STEERING GROUP Our steering group will bring together internal and external stakeholders  three times a year to review progress and help refresh the strategy
The aim of these four Taskforces is to bring together a broad range of partners who meet quarterly, set 10 key objectives for the year and support each other in the delivery of these objectives.
SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS We will support any group which wants to constructively contribute to the strategy – eg BME, Disability, LGBT, Older People, Younger People, Women’s Groups etc hosting ad hoc or regular meetings as required
ACTION TEAMS A series of project-based teams will be set up to deliver on specific projects arising from the strategy
